About the Garmin fenix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar Edition GPS Smartwatch
The Garmin fenix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar Edition GPS Smartwatch allows you to conquer every hour with advanced training features, and up to more than a month of battery life. Get up to 22 days in smartwatch mode with solar charging in 3 hours of direct sunlight (50,000 lux) per day and up to 73 hours in GPS mode with solar charging (assumes continuous use for entire period in 50,000 lux conditions). Variable light intensities and a red safety light give you greater awareness while you train in the dark and can provide convenient illumination when you need it. Strobe mode can even match your running cadence. The ECG app uses sensors to record the electrical signals that control how your heart beats. It analyzes that recording to detect signs of an irregular heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation (AFib). This feature measures your ability to sustain prolonged efforts and combines training data from all your athletic pursuits to help you understand how training impacts your overall endurance. This dynamic measurement uses your VO2 max, short-term/long-term training loads and other factors to gauge your fitness progress beyond just VO2 max. The resilient athletic design features a 1.3” scratch-resistant sapphire solar charged display, responsive touchscreen, traditional buttons and 47 mm fiber-reinforced polymer case with a titanium bezel and rear cover. The watch is tested to U.S. military standards for thermal, shock and water resistance. Your health and training data should be easy to interpret and provide actionable insight. Begin each day with a customizable morning report, and see a daily summary of health and wellness information. Use the training readiness feature - which looks at a variety of different health metrics to help you maximize your training efficiency and recovery - to prevent burnout.

The only thing that is different is they include a cord with a USB c connector which charges slower than the standard USB the cords use to have.
For not being dual-band GPS, it almost seems like it is haha! GPS accuracy has been top notch, and even better than some dual-band GPS competitor watches I've tried. Sooo, hats off to you Garmin.
However, Garmin's tier system with some of their software features is a little weird. For example, one simple feature I wish it had (and it's almost stupid it doesn't) is hot-keys like on a ton of Garmin's other watches. It's kinda annoying that this watch doesn't have it. I don't care about having all the training load metrics like the Forerunner 265 and up have (it makes sense to limit those to pricier watches), but being able to use hotkeys (ex. for Garmin pay, timers, flashlight, etc.) would make me bump the rating up to 5 stars.
Overall, great, but just needs a little more.
The Fenix is beautiful, rugged and paired easily with my phone. I love the information the Fenix provides on sleep, stress, training readiness . I am very happy with the fenix and would recommend it and other Garmin products to my friends and family.
1st: 5 out of 5 stars. Fenix pro sapphire, watch & internals. This was a significant enough upgrade from my fenix five+. I really like the additional features of the watch. The new HR sensor works better than any previous version. As long as you have the band tight enough, the hr readings seem to be spot on. The only time I don't wear it and use a polar arm strap is when doing kettlebell exercises that would smash into. The flashlight is surprisingly handy feature that I find many uses for. The rest of the upgraded features in the fenix 7 line all work well.
2nd: 2 out of 5 stars. Fog Gray/Ember Orange Band. While itself, the gray/orange colorway is good, but it is the ONLY option. Any other band will clash with the fog gray case. I have several colors from the old fenix 5 including the Italian Vacchetta leather strap and they all look terrible. The pictures garmin list with the product don't do it justice, most are top down showing the titanium ring. With my previous fenix 5+, I could dress it up or down depending on what I wanted to do with it. Not so with this.
If I were to do it again, I might get the same in the carbon gray/titanium. Garmin I recommend offering an all titanium looking case as it's more versatile with different bands.
