Born out of a BMX accessories brand, Haro Designs was formed by Bob Haro in 1978 with headquarters in Torrance, California. While the company grew from the sales of BMX bike accessories, Haro also grew the sport of freestyle BMX. He traveled around the country performing demos of radical trick riding that had not been seen anywhere before. As a result, Haro earned the title "The Father of Freestyle." Eventually, bringing his dream to life by designing and building a dedicated Freestyle bike and becoming a Haro bike manufacturer.

While the BMX boom was in full swing in the 80s, the company built a reputation for developing innovative, top-of-the-line BMX and freestyle bikes and accessories. Haro Bikes' most popular BMX/Freestyle models were the Master and the Sport.

Since the early days, Haro has evolved and developed many new bike lines to fit various riding styles. Today Haro offers mountain bikes, road bikes, gravel bikes, e-bikes, kids' bikes, and more.
