changes not necessary
totally agree with Kyle: For one, the bottom pocket has been made smaller. The net inside the pocket was previously one net, and could be used to keep a cellphone or wallet secure. Now the two separate pockets are both too small to fit an iPhone or wallet, and have been made all but useless. What were they thinking??

Needs work
I agree with Kyle's well written review. I've used a number of Camelbak products for many years. Most of these "updates" are not improvements.
For the price it's very surprising that the Crux reservoir supplied with this pack doesn't have the quick on/off valve. The elastic strap to hold the reservoir won't last long and is annoying. The velcro on previous packs worked great. Not being able to secure the adjustable straps is disappointing.
The new Crux reservoir with the longer handle won't fit my other Camelbak packs, although it is easier to hold when filling. The cover that screws closed works well, this is an improvement.
Another consideration is that previous dryers don't work with the Crux. Instead of purchasing yet another accessory, we fashioned a dryer from a coat hanger.
Despite purchasing this pack on sale in lime punch for visibility when cycling I'm going to return it and will watch for an improved product.

Old Rogue is now Velocity at Dick's Sporting Goods
If you like the old Rogue, you can still buy it under the name Velocity at Dick's sporting goods (70oz capacity. Exact same product, different name. I just bought it on sale for $39.95. (this is my second one since I like them so much)

Great bag and Water Pouch
I try a different Hydro pouch before coming back to CamelBak. I used this company Products in the Marine Corps and didn't have any problems. I Tried a cheaper brand and man did it disappoint me. While riding my Motorcycle it leaked Bad and made me go get the Rogue. I have been Pleased, it's comfort is great with the added storage. I put my Meds /1st aid items in top pouch and mini survival kit in the lower pouch. I seen where someone stated no room for a iPhone, But my iPhone 7 in a Pelican Waterproof case fits find. Also as I ride my moto, I don't get a wet spot on my lower back like the cheaper Hydro brand! Semper Fi

Compact Hydration Pack
This hydration pack is perfect for riders that prefer a less bulky/lighter backpack. It still offers enough room for the essential tools, pump, tube and wallet/keys/phone.

"Updates" are poor
Bought a new Rogue to replace my old Rogue and the bladder is much harder to put into the bag. (the access hole is kind of small The lack of a strap and buckle holding the bladder flap down really kills the pack. I used to regularly put a shirt under the strap and it would stay all day. No chance now!

Leaked on first day of use
One of the lining at the lid popped immediately on the first day of use. Leaked the whole weekend during my festival. The rest of the pack was great, lovely pockets and lots of storage space, but the leak made the bag non-usable.
