Lake Hefner Loop – 10 mi
Love a route with a water view? Look no further! With 10 miles of paved paths, the Lake Heffner Loop is perfect for beginner cyclists or families with older children looking to hit a new milestone. Check out one of the many waterfront restaurants, or take family photos in front of the charming lighthouse!
Oklahoma River Ride – 14.9 mi
For a trail with urban views, check out the Oklahoma River Ride! With paved separate bike and running trails, this traffic-free route follows the Oklahoma River. Start your morning with brunch from a local restaurant in Bricktown, then join the trail in downtown OKC and ride to the edge of Boeking Acres. With river and skyline views alike, you’re sure to create lasting memories on the Oklahoma River Ride.
Loop the Lakes – 29.3 mi
If you can’t decide between building your endurance and taking the scenic route, the Loop the Lakes route offers the best of both worlds! With about 30 miles of paved paths, this trail starts with a loop around Lake Heffner, then crosses over to Lake Overholser, where you’ll get to complete an additional lakeside loop. Due to its remote nature, this route is great for beginners looking to get in a longer ride without any traffic.
Jones Lollipop Loop – 59.5 mi
For a full day of bike path riding in OKC, be sure to check out the Jones Lollipop Loop. Starting at Trek OKC, this route is mostly on flat roads until you reach the Katy trail—where the terrain then gets a little hilly. The ride flattens back out near Jones, where you’ll ride through agricultural land.
Midland Valley Trail – 3.3 mi
If you’re looking to get away from the hustle-and-bustle of Tulsa city life, head over to the Midland Valley Trail. This route takes place on an abandoned Midland Valley Railroad corridor. Highlights include biking through Maple Park and Centennial Park, riding in proximity to Oklahoma’s stunning woodlands, and enjoying both skyline and river views alike.
Tulsa River Parks Trails
For a shaded, waterfront ride, be sure to check out Tulsa’s River Parks Trails. While there are two trails that run north and south alongside the Arkansas River, these paths have completely different atmospheres. The East Bank Trail runs from the 11th Street bridge at Riverside Drive, all the way to 101st Street. This urban route passes the Tulsa Spotlight Theatre, as well as Art Deco gems and historic homes. On the other hand, The West Bank Trail is the opposite of urban, with only nature and river views. This trail runs 8 miles, from the 11th Street bridge to 71st Street. If you can’t decide which path to take, hit up both!
Hunter Park via Creek Turnpike Trail – 8.0 mi
If you’re looking to bike in an area with little to no traffic, check out the Creek Turnpike Trail. This 8-mile trail in broken arrow is extremely secluded. In fact, it’s highly unlikely you’ll encounter other people during your path riding adventure. If that sounds amazing, then this route is for you! Put on your helmet, and ride into your next adventure on the Creek Turnpike Trail.
