The summer sun beats down as soon as you set outside. Sometimes, just walking to your car leaves a trail of sweat pouring from your face. What better way to cool down than to take a dip in the water? Right off the lake, you can dock your boat and head to one of their many dining establishments. And, if heading out the boat isn’t your thing, and all you want to do is cool off, then go to Lake Ray Hubbard Greenbelt. This scenic park has a beach to relax and dip your toes in. Lake Ray Hubbard has it all for your summertime cool-down.
Grapevine Lake
If you’re looking for another great place for watersports in Dallas/ Ft. Worth, Grapevine Lake is it. Only 30 minutes from Fort Worth and Dallas, this lake offers plenty of activities for all watersports lovers including water skiing, wakeboarding, and more. Launch the boat at numerous launches around the lake, including Meadowmere Park and Katie’s Woods. The protected coves offer the opportunity for kayaking and paddleboarding, while parks such as Meadowmere offer large open banks for dipping the toes into the water for a swim. Dallas Trinity Paddling Trail
When thinking about watersports in Dallas/ Ft. Worth, you may not be looking in the city. Launch out of Trammel Crow Park and you’ll be on your way! The trail is a tad over 10 miles. Depending on flow rate and wind speeds, expect the entire trip to take between 4-8 hours. However, there are 2 sections, which can be done in about 2-4 hours. Be on the lookout for plenty of birds such as herons and egrets, as well as your traditional urban critters such as raccoons and skunks. Remember to pack for the trip including hydration packs and sunscreen/.
