Info About the Charlotte, NC Area
Charlotte is packed with great biking spots that suit every rider’s style. Whether you’re rolling through downtown or hitting forested singletrack, here are three trails our team always recommends:
Little Sugar Creek Greenway
This paved, scenic trail winds through Charlotte’s greenbelt, connecting parks, neighborhoods, and shopping districts. It’s perfect for families, commuters, or anyone looking for a smooth, peaceful ride. The Greenway is also part of the larger Cross Charlotte Trail system, which will eventually stretch from South Carolina to UNC Charlotte.
South Main Full Loop at the Whitewater Center
Looking for a bit more challenge? Head to the U.S. National Whitewater Center, where the South Main Loop delivers 6.5 miles of wooded trails, riverside views, and optional cutoffs for adjusting your ride’s length. It’s a year-round favorite for intermediate and experienced mountain bikers seeking flow and elevation.
Charlotte Rail Trail
Running alongside the LYNX Blue Line, this 11-mile urban route is ideal for riders who want to experience the city from a new perspective. You’ll pass breweries, public art, and local hangouts as you ride through South End and Uptown. It’s a favorite among locals for its accessibility and energy.
