This program is designed for growing kids, ages 3–12, in junior sizing. We have gear for all skill levels! If your child hits a growth spurt mid-season, just swing by for a free size swap. At age 13, or when they outgrow junior sizing, we’ll guide them into adult gear.

What size does my child need?
- Our Outdoor Experts custom-fit boots, skis/snowboards, and bindings to your child’s height, weight, and ability.
What if my kid outgrows the gear mid-season?
- It happens! Swap sizes at no charge so the gear “grows” with your kid.
Should we buy or lease? What’s more cost-effective?
- Buying is a great option if the size won’t change for a couple of years. Leasing has season-long value without the risk of outgrowing gear, free waxing, and a $20 credit at renewal/return.
How does leasing compare to daily resort rentals?
- Rentals often mean lines, limited inventory, and repeated fittings. With a JSL, skip the lines! Your child’s gear is ready for every trip. All. Season. Long!
Is the equipment safe and properly set up?
- Yes. Bindings are adjusted by trained techs to industry standards. Need a tune mid-season? Bring the set-up to a Sun & Ski Sports ski shop for a free safety/fit check-up.

Do you carry twin-tip skis for kids?

What if the boots hurt?
- Come back and see us for a free boot check! Refits and size swaps are available within junior sizing.
Is the gear new or used?
- All gear is professionally inspected and tuned before each lease. With a junior seasonal lease, you’ll leave with quality gear that performs.
Can siblings share a lease?
- Not recommended because fit and binding settings are personalized. We suggest one set-up per child for safety and progress.
Can we travel with leased gear
- Yes! The gear is yours for the season. Ask an Outdoor Expert about packing tips and pre-trip tune-ups at your local store.
What if something breaks?
- Normal wear happens. The optional Protection Plan helps with the unexpected; stop in for repairs/tunes where applicable.
What if we lose an item?
- Replacement fees apply. We’ll outline options to get your child back on snow fast. Swing by your local Sun & Ski Sports for details.
Do you sanitize/maintain gear?
- Yes - cleaned and professionally tuned before each lease.
What ages/sizes qualify?
- Junior sizing typically applies to kids ages 3 to 12. The JSL is a smooth path from first turns to tween years. Then we’ll guide you to adult gear.
Do we need an appointment? How long does fitting take?
- No appointment needed. Walk in, get fitted, ride. Weekdays = fewer lines.
When should we come in?
- As early as possible. Preseason pricing ends Oct 31st!
Are helmets and accessories included?
- Helmets are sold separately. When you purchase a Junior Seasonal Lease for your child, you’ll receive a rewards book with special deals and savings on the accessories your child will need to stay safe and warm on the mountain. Sun & Ski Sports is your one-stop for goggles, gloves, base layers, and more!
How do returns/renewals work?
- Return at season’s end or renew for next season. Renew during the window to keep your deposit rolling and receive your $20 credit.
What form of payment do I need to hold the lease for the whole season?
- A valid credit card is required to hold your spot and cover the one-time $150 deposit.
Can we hang onto the gear over the summer for next season?
- Nope, sorry. All the gear comes back to us each year for a good look-over and a tune-up. Turn your stuff in during our renewal window, and you'll get credit back.
What if my kid's size isn't in stock?
- There might be a short wait, but we have a trick up our sleeve. We can transfer gear between stores to get the right fit for your child.
