Cannondale: Iconic Bicycle Manufacturer

A manufacturer that started at the top of a pickle factory in Connecticut with bicycle trailers, backpacks and camping goods in the 1970's - Cannondale is an iconic bicycle manufacturer that makes bikes for everyone and is built to roam. It wasn't until 1983 that Cannondale produced the first ever aluminum frame bicycle; the ST500. They steered away from steel frames to reduce weight and keep things interesting for bike riders. As the years go on, progression continues with Cannondale introducing the first oversize aluminum head tube in 1990. This was another game changer because riders now had even more precise handling and stability for whatever terrain they chose to ride. The innovation didn't stop there as they brought in the "Lefty" suspension fork in the late 1990's, which mountain bike riders loved the single-sided design because of its stiffness and reduction in weight as opposed to the conventional crown fork.
