Nordica Women's Fire Arrow F4W Ski Boots '12
The Nordica Women's Fire Arrow F4W Ski Boots are a high performance boot with a completely new design to meet the needs of today's aggressive female skiers. Built for greater lateral forces, increase inclination and faster speeds, the Fire Arrow boots address these new demand with an entirely new shell design to enhance lateral precision, progressive forward flex creating easier ankle articulation and a 45 degree closure system for maximum heel retention. They also offer more forefoot comfort, progressive flex and tongue rebound. The 3-piece shell design with tall medial/lateral flanges on a lower cabrio boot offers lateral power and the easiest entry and exit regardless of temperature. The F4W features a 45-degree buckle strap at the boot throat that maximizes closure with a 3-buckle design, effectively acting as a fourth buckle. This boot has adjustable progressive flex allows for two-position stiffness without affecting cuff alignment. 100mm last. With a new design, comes a new way to measure. Instead of just one number representing the flex, Nordica has begun adopting the Dynamic Performance Code to measure three performance parameters. Stiffness (1-20) measures the amount of force needed to bend the boot forward. Progression (1-3) is how much stiffer the boot gets as it is flexed forward. Rebound (M=slow, H=medium, E=fastest) is how quickly the boot returns to neutral from its deepest flex. The stiffer the boot, the higher the transmission of power to the ski. The F4W has a flex rating of 13.0. The bigger progression, the stiffer the boot behaves through the forward flex allowing the most precise load transmission of the ski. The F4W has a medium progression rating of 2. The higher the rate of rebound the faster the boot returns, enabling a quicker turn and ski edge change. The F4W also has a medium rebound rating of H.
