Comments about Marker Marker 12 Free Wide Brake Ski Bindings:
I had the Marker 12 Free bindings mounted on a new pair of Ninthward First Blood skis in Feb 08. The skis are 91 mm under foot. I've skied about 8 days on the set through groomers, trees, bumps, steeps, and small jumps. I do not hang out in the terrain park. The bindings have been awesome for my use and I have not had an unwanted release. Yet they do release when I screw up. Also, the construction also seems solid. The bindings should take a beating and last many years.
The bindings do sit pretty flat to the ski, so the bottom of your boot is close to the surface. This might be a good thing in some conditions, but I think it makes the edge to edge transitions slower. Some bindings have a riser plate to raise your foot up a bit.

This binding is great. It has excellent shock absorption. It also looks cool. Never thought I would see argyle patterns on a ski binding. It also has great release and easy entry.
