I have only used these boots for a week-
It is a pleasure to wear boots that are at once so light yet keep my feet toasty warm.
I have not yet had a chance to test these boots in slush and puddles so don't know if the 'waterproof' promise holds true. Nor have I been able to try walking on ice- so I cannot comment on traction.
They are extremely comfortable and easy to walk in. (I wear them on city streets. I would not recommend these for 'hiking'- no ankle support.)
My only complaint is that The North Face does not offer half sizes: the size I bought feels too large yet one full size down is too small..
cheers-

I was attracted to these boots because of their looks. Their wonderful for around shopping and errands. But as for hiking and trail walking these are not good for that. Unless you have a couple good pairs of thick socks. I live in the northern part of the country and my husband bought them for me for christmas so i could stay warm. Unfortunatly i dont wear them for much more than errands because of the warmth issue. If you live where the temp doesn't drop below the 30s these boots are for you . These boots are for you that is the fact you will love them:-)

I can wear my boots in Texas where the weather changes on a hourly basis. wake up to 18 deggress one day and go to bed with 80 the next. I love wearing my boots and my feet don't sweat in them and I get a lot of compliments on them. I got a pair for my 8 year old daughter when we went snow sking this past christmas. She loved them and wears them to school on cold days.
