Fuji Transonic 2.1 Performance Road Bike '16
The Fuji Transonic 2.1 Performance Road Bike uses athlete feedback, Fuji integrates mechanic feedback - be it from a shop or pro tour team - into all of its products. And the Transonic is the latest to exemplify one of the brand's overriding goals: to design bikes that are easy-to-service and user-friendly. Similar to how Fuji designed its Tri/TT bike, the Norcom Straight, with a vertical dropout for significantly easier wheel changes, the brand is not afraid to depart from industry norms to avoid unnecessary hassles for cyclists and their mechanics.
Fuji is one of the first in the industry to position a direct-mount brake on the seatstays instead of under the chainstay - where it is extremely challenging to set up and service and impossible to adjust in a race situation. From a stiffness and aerodynamics standpoint, a chainstay-mounted rear brake makes a lot of sense; yet from a service standpoint, it's illogical. Fuji worked directly with Shimano to modify their front brake design and apply it to a rear seatstay position, where it affords both mechanics and riders easy access for adjustments and wheel changes - plus allows for confirmation that the wheel and brake aren't rubbing after a change.
Fuji is, therefore, confident that the Transonic's brake positions offer the best of both worlds, combining optimum performance with maximum accessibility.
- A few more noteworthy, user-friendly Transonic features: The Transonic has an integrated chain watcher to ensure smooth shifts without the risk of dropping the chain to the inside of the crank. Designed with the future in mind, the frame accommodates all the newest wide-rim profile wheel systems and up to 28mm tires. Fuji C5 high-modulus carbon front triangle, integrated head tube w/ 1 1/2" lower, PF30, double water bottle mounts and C5 rearend.
