Shimano invented SPD, so you can depend on it! The recessed cleat and clipless pedal technology revolutionized the cycling shoe/pedal interface. Ultimate power transer and peak performance demand that pedal and shoe work together as one integrated system. Shimano's legacy of Systems Engineering and premier component design provided the model for a totally new shoe/pedal system, and SPD was born. Wonderful Pedals February 3, 2012
Reviewer: Coog Fan from Houston, TX
These are my first clipless pedals, and I will never go back to platform pedals again! They are so easy to get in and out of, and make riding much more enjoyable and efficient. I have nerve problems in one foot and had a lot of discomfort with traditional platform pedals. Since switching to the SPD system, I have not had any foot pain whatsoever! I barely had them a week before doing a training ride in the hills and made it 33 miles without ever once thinking about my feet. Lifesavers!
