As you know there are a lot of retailers opening their doors on Thanksgiving Day. We have elected not to follow that trend. WE BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A DAY OF CELEBRATION WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

This means that none of our stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day.

What are some upright rooftop carriers?

Attachments are the key kayak accessories for rooftop carriers. Once you choose your attachments, you will attach them to your vehicle’s roof or roof rack with clamps, screws, or other means. Here are several options for attaching your kayak to a rooftop carrier:

  • Sideways: Transporting your kayak on its side in a rooftop carrier leaves more room for other gear. For sideways transport, you will need J-cradles and stackers, such as those found in the Thule Hullaport Folding J Kayak Carrier with Quickdraw Straps. This is the attachment system to use for multiple kayaks.
  • Upright: A saddle attachment system lets a single kayak sit upright, such as with the Thule Top Deck Kayak Saddle with Tie Downs. This type of system can reduce wear and tear on the hull.
  • Integrated: If you want to get fancy when transporting your kayak, check out integrated lift systems with gas-assisted shocks to make the loading process easier.

For expert advice about the different kayak carrier attachment systems, visit your local Sun & Ski Sports shop.
