Description Technical Specs
If you run trails in road shoes then the Salomon Men's XR Mission CS should be your next shoe! Its light, cushioned, and grippy. Climashield™ ads breathable weather protection for running in muddy or cold and wet conditions. XR Mission CS combines all-surface running shoes with the winter protection of climashield. Weather protection over the forefoot where you need it, breathability around the foot to let excess heat and moisture escape. Unlike other winter running shoes that become saturated with sweat, ClimaShield stays comfortable as the miles add up.

  • Designed for Moderate mileage training
  • Weather protection
  • Outstanding grip

Great for moderately steep trails January 27, 2015
Reviewer: summitseeker from New Hampshire
I love these shoes, 100%.  They are great for dirt trails, dry rock and ledges, and some mud.  No shoe is perfect, but the tread pattern  does not lend itself to extremely steep or slippery conditions.  I have climbed some of NH's 4,000 footers in them with no issue and other times slid over wet granite ledges.

That being said, if you want a comfortable and warm, these shoes are toasty, shoe then the XR CS Missions are awesome.

For the record, I would not do any winter hikes on snowy trails with them or attempt technical routes that are wet

Not as good as first pair April 23, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Suwanee,Ga
This pair replaced another set that has lasted a year and are still going.  Unfortunately this pair is already coming apart after only a few weeks. Part of the yellow tread is pulling off and some of the stitching doesn't line up to the point where one shoe feels tighter than the other.  I hope this is an isolated case with Salomon and Sun and Ski. Very disappointed.
