What are good sandals for hiking?
Choosing the right sandals for summer activities is easy when you keep some basic sandal features in mind.
- Straps: Most sports sandals are multi-strap sandals, to ensure that your sandals stay on your feet. Some popular multi-strap sandals include Keens, Tevas, and Chacos. Keens are known for protected rubber toe guards, while Tevas and Chacos feature a wider selection of open toe sandals
- Soles: If your plans for your water shoes or sport sandals include standing on a slippery boat deck, walking, or light hiking, look for rubber sole shoes. Shoes with Vibram soles provide the most traction.
- Slide: For casual sandals, a slip-on slide style can be an excellent choice. But for hiking, rafting, and other active pursuits, you’ll get a more secure fit if you choose multi-strap sandals with pieces that go around behind your heels.
