Line Men's Sir Francis Bacon Backcountry Skis were designed by Eric Pollard for those that are looking for a fun, easy to float, freestyle feeling ski for terrain that is steep and deep. The Bacon has ground breaking edge hold for versatility like no other. Line's Sir Francis Bacon is a one ski quiver for aspiring, solid advanced and expert skiers looking for a powerful turning ski whether off piste or on. From park to powder, this ski has very few limits.
The Sir Francis Bacon is constructed with 2 full length Maple stringers surrounded by Aspen for the best of both worlds, with P-Tex plastic walls over the edges to absorb vibrations for a smooth & solid feel. Every bit of Line's geometric technology has been thrown in too. Early rise in the tip starts even earlier to effortlessly stay on top of the snow without needing to sit back, also providing easier turn initiation. The widest point of the sidecut also starts tapering ealier in the tip to reduce tail drag and hooking in powder. Finally 5 different sizes of sidecut radius shapes are blended into one, for intuitive control and unlimited turn shapes.
The Bacon even has Super Powers, a ThinTip reduces swing weight and tip bounce. The FATTY Base & Edge are thicker to dramatically increase the durability and tuning life of your skis. With a Symmetric Flex, the same flex pattern in-front and behind your boot conforms to terrain equally, whether riding forward and backwards.
We recommend pairing this flat ski with the
Marker Griffon binding.
