Geared towards the sidecountry, the K2 Hardside is a more robust, more powerful, sidewall constructed ski with a generally wider waist widths and more rocker for versatility & ease in all snow conditions. This ski is constructed with an environmentally conscious Bio Core Tech that uses a blend of Aspen, Bamboo, and Poulowina for a lighter-weight renewable core. The backside specific TNC Metal Laminate Construction lessens weight while providing an accurate and responsive feel. Hibritech construction combines the accuracy and powerful performance of a sidewall underfoot with the light weight and smooth turn initiation feeling of a cap.
The Hardside's All-Terrain rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions. This addition of rocker eliminates the need for increased surface area in the tip to create lift and initiate float so K2's Powder Tip design pulls the widest point of the tip further down the ski to retain float in soft snow and minimize deflection in adverse snow conditions.
Flat tails provide backcountry utility by allowing you to plunge the tails easily into firm snow. Designed with tip/tail holes and concave tail notches for added utility function and attachment points for optional climbing skins. We recommend pairing this flat ski with the
Marker Griffon binding.
